Finding Topics: How to look for topics you are interested in:
Craft topic is one of the primary ways to search at Spotted Canary. Click on the craft you are interested in and you’ll find several subcategories for each such as Getting Started, Tools & Supplies and Getting Organized (key topics any new crafter should review). Each subcategory has articles and projects related to those subjects.
Browse by Theme is the last tag hanging from the tree branch at the top of the page. Choose this area if you are looking for information related to a specific subject such as holidays, school or pets. Browse by Theme will allow you search themed projects across many different craft types.
In Advanced Search you can pick and choose by craft type, theme, types of projects and more. You can also type in what you are looking for into the search bar at the top of any page.
In the Flock Form you’ll find discussion boards about each type of craft and one dedicated specifically to New Crafters. Talking to other crafters is one of the best ways to get information about the topic you are interested in, and because this message board is specifically geared to someone who is a beginner, you won’t see lots of terms and phrases the “experts” use.
Finding Projects: How to look for projects you are interested in:
Our Creative Gallery is the “spot-on” way to get inspired and get your creative juices flowing. You can search by latest projects across all craft topics, or choose a specific craft type. The gallery is made up of Spotted Canary Design Team projects and member projects. You can look at both groups together or choose one group versus the other.
Plus, we have identified projects that are Quick & Easy. These are projects Spotted Canary feels can be made in less than 30 minutes and with minimal amount of materials. When in the Browse by Theme menu, simply click the Quick & Easy button from the top of the list to display these projects.
Making a Project: How to make a Spotted Canary project:
When you click on a project made by a Spotted Canary designer, you’ll find detailed information including a materials list, step-by-step instructions, templates, and photos of the project. For every Spotted Canary project, you’ll also find a downloadable Shopping List. This downloadable PDF list will give detailed material information, including specific item numbers to assist you in purchasing the right products for the project.

If you are just interested in the latest projects, articles and postings, check out What’s New. Here you will see the latest content posted at Spotted Canary including articles, projects, blogs, videos, contests and surveys!
