A Spotted Canary Project by CMScanlon

21 September 2009

Welcome your new neighbors to the block with this one-of-a-kind hand tinted leaf card. Adapt this card easily to other occasions such as thinking of you or get well soon.

Instructions

STEP 1:

Pick up leaf from outside and trace outline on white cardstock.

STEP 2:

Wet a small area of the white cardstock and color in using the green and yellow brush markers. When satisfied with the look, which will be similar to a watercolor painting, let dry completely. When dry embellish edges with the burgundy marker. Use the black writer to outline the veins in the leaf.

STEP 3:

Print “to the neighborhood” on the back side of the cardstock so that it will be inside the finished card. Trim and fold the green cardstock to desired card size. Trim dictionary page to size and adhere to front of card.

STEP 4:

Print “welcome” on white cardstock and attach to center of leaf with silver brads.

STEP 5:

Cut out leaf and attach to dictionary page as shown.

STEP 6:

Cut out leaf and attach to dictionary page as shown.
