I made a bouquet of flowers to fill this lunch box tin especially for mom! It ended up being a beautiful paper crafted flower center piece.
Instructions
STEP 1:
To decorate tin, cut two 12 x 3.5 inch strips of patterned paper . Tear top edge and wrap around tin from bottom. Adhere cream ribbon around the bottom of this patterned paper strip. Cut two thin strips of burgundy paper and wrap around top, starting and ending at the closure.
STEP 2:
Create an envelope using double sided patterned paper. Punch a 1 inch circle and a larger scalloped circle from two different papers and adhere together. Top with a vellum floral sticker. Wrap ribbon around the center of the envelope and top with embellished scalloped circle. Leave envelope open and adhere to front of tin as shown. Mat a burgundy rectangle with white cardstock and adhere a yellow square with rounded corners to the center to create sentiment card. Staple a folded ribbon to top right corner.
STEP 3:
Punch three scalloped circles from different solid papers and tuck edges behind envelope. Add adhesive rhinestones to center of flowers. Punch three ¾ inch circles out of burgundy cardstock and spell "mom" with rub-on letters. Adhere to tin.
STEP 4:
Cover inside of tin lid with striped patterned paper. Cover bottom half of striped piece with burgundy paper, tearing top edge before adhering. Cut a ¾ inch strip of yellow paper and mat with burgundy cardstock. Adhere to striped area of lid and add vellum flowers to strip.
STEP 5:
Drill 2 holes in either side of lid, and two holes in rim of base. Thread ribbon through holes and tie knots at each end.
STEP 6:
Create a belly-band for candle. Mat yellow paper with burgundy cardstock and wrap around candle. Mat patterned ribbon with thicker pink ribbon and wrap around candle, centering ribbon on paper wrap. Mat a 1.75 inch punched circle onto a 2 inch scallop circle punch to create flower for center of belly-band. Apply a large vellum floral sticker to center of punched flower.
STEP 7:
For smaller flowers: Create 4 flowers using all three sizes of scallop circle punches and various sizes of nesting circle punches. Use varied paper choices. Add punched circles to centers and apply vellum floral stickers to each one.
STEP 8:
For larger flowers: Create 4 flowers using all three sizes of scallop circle punches and various sizes of nesting circle punches. Use 1.25 inch scallop punch to create 5-petaled flowers, and fill center with same steps used to make smaller flowers. Make two of the larger flowers using the 1.5 inch scallop punch and fill center with same steps used to make smaller flowers.
STEP 9:
Adhere all flowers to wooden skewers with adhesive foam squares. Poke skewer through foam section of the square and adhere one side of foam square to flower, leaving paper on opposite side of foam square. Cut sticks to different lengths, and tie ribbons at base of each flower.
STEP 10:
Place floral foam in base of tin and cover top with striped paper. Cut a hole in paper the diameter of candle and push candle down into foam. Poke flowers through paper and into foam, arranging them around the candle. This paper crafted flower center piece can be used for Mother's Day, baby or wedding showers or even with your everyday home décor!
