Make this delightful handcrafted stamped owl card and add a special message inside to brighten someone’s day. These stamps were from Inkadinkado but you can choose any that fits your subject! It’s a snap to make with just two images and one ink color. Combining complementary-colored patterns in papers and stamps creates a visual feast for the eyes. The use of brads, ribbon, and adhesive foam circles adds texture and dimension. Take what you have learned in this project and experiment with other combinations of stamps and papers in this color scheme.
Instructions
STEP 1:
Cut an 8.5 x 5.5 inch rectangle from cream cardstock. Fold it in half to make a 4.25 x 5.5 inch card.
STEP 2:
Cut a 4 x 5.25 inch rectangle of patterned paper and adhere it to the card.
STEP 3:
Cut a 1.5 x 5.25 inch rectangle from the another patterned paper. Stamp a floral border on the rectangle and heat set it. Adhere this rectangle to the left side of the card.
STEP 4:
Cut a 2.5 x 3.5 inch rectangle from cream cardstock. Stamp the owl image on it and heat set. Use a pin or needle to make starter holes, then add the brads in the four corners of the rectangle. Adhere the rectangle to the card with foam circles.
STEP 5:
Wrap a length of ribbon around the card front near the fold and tie the ends in a knot on the front. Trim the ends of the ribbon with the pinking shears. Use different stamps to turn this stamped owl card into a brand new card!
