It's a Wrap: Stamp Custom Gift Wrap for Your Homemade Gifts

I have always enjoyed homemade gift wrap just as much as making or buying them. Decorated gift bags, personalized gift tags, and boxes filled with fluffy tissue paper were always as special as the gift itself! I want to share with you a few ways to stamp custom gift wrap that is as special as the gift you are giving!
With stamps, it is easy to duplicate, easy to change color schemes, and easy to clean up!
For my Hello Bag & Tag, I first randomly stamped on a white lunch sack. The nice bold print of black leaves on the white bag goes so well with the patterned papers used on the tag. I covered a chipboard tag with a tone-on-tone print and stamped directly onto the patterned paper. To make the design stand out from the gift bag, I used a glue pen to trace the stamped images, then sprinkled on a fine black glitter. I adhered small black rhinestones over the stamped image, which added the subtle “wow” that I was after!

Try stamping on more than just paper! For my Thinking of You Bag, I randomly stamped a small image around a chipboard die cut frame. This small flower image came with a set of alphabet stamps, and is the perfect size for this small project. I added some small rhinestones for the center of the flowers. Stamp on a scrap piece of paper and use a circle punch to create your tag. This would be perfect for a friend who needs a smile (or chocolate….)!

For my last sample, I covered a plain kraft box with patterned papers. For the front of the box, I wanted my butterfly to have more dimension, so I stamped and layered the image three times. After adhering each layer, I used small red rhinestones for the body of the butterfly, and sprinkled white glitter over the wings. I used the same butterfly stamp and two coordinating flower stamps on tissue paper for the inside of the box.

I hope that I have inspired you to stamp homemade gift wrap for your next handmade gift! Keep in mind that you can use these simple ideas with different stamps and patterned papers for an entirely new look!
