Grandparents Day Gift Ideas for Kids to Craft

My grandparents are such huge part of my life, and helped make me who I am today; my love for anything crafty comes from my grandmother! Even though she passed away when I was young, I still remember sitting at her kitchen table making gifts for my parents, keepsakes for grandpa, and cute little items for my room. Now I watch my own children, and how they love to make things with – and for – their grandparents! So much love is poured into each creation! My daughter and I came up with some fun Grandparents Day Gift ideas to share.
Magnet Tin:
First, we decorated small metal tin and filled it with some coordinating magnets. My kids are always coloring pictures and writing notes for their grandparents, and this will be a great way to display them on the fridge! This would also be a great project for children and grandparents to create together, and a darling addition to any child’s room! Instead of flowers, use sports balls or trucks for a boy!
Photo Gifts:
Since both of my parents live hundreds of miles away from us, we don’t get to see them often enough. That results in lots of pictures being sent to them! Our next two gifts incorporate photos. First, we used a chipboard cube and decorated it with a picture of each of my kids, along with some coordinating papers and embellishments. Embellish several cubes to spell “FAMILY”, “JOY”, or even your last name! These would be beautiful to display on a mantle or shelf for anyone to enjoy!
Our final creation is my favorite. We used a chipboard frame, and altered it by adding rings to hold multiple photos. This concept would also make a great countdown calendar for children or grandparents! Add numbers beside each photo, and turn each day as you count down to the arrival or departure date. When we announce that we are visiting grandpa, I don’t know who is more excited, grandpa or the kids!
These projects are all great Grandparents Day gift ideas, and they would each be something fun to create together!
