Stained glass is one of my favorite home decor items, from big windows that hang and reflect pretty colors around my home to small items that hang as sun catchers in a window and make me smile when I see them – I love them all. Not everyone has the patience or talent to make elaborate stained glass projects, no matter how beautiful they are. You can decorate your home with “faux” stained glass home decor items, and make them yourself!
- Make a candle holder by making 4 square Glass Art projects. Use copper tape to attach them together to form a square that you can slide over your candle as it sits on a protected surface.
- Create a wall-hanging by covering a canvas board with decorative paper, add some plain or text book paper to the back of the glass and attach the glass piece to the canvas with a 1/2 inch thick adhesive foam dot. Drill holes in the two top corners and hang with a decorative ribbon.
- Have someone you know that is good with woodworking make a frame to insert the glass in and use it as a trivet in the kitchen or a coaster in the living room.
- Find a nice wooden frame that the Glass Art will fit in and frame the piece then hang it on the wall and you can see the color of your all behind it.
- If you are talented with stained glass, make a box that has a mirrored bottom and use the Glass Art as a cover that is held in place with a chain.
- Embellish your Glass Art with clear glass baubles using glass adhesive and hang using the wire that was included with the Glass Art kit.
- Cover the edges of the Glass Art with copper tape like you were making a stained glass piece. Wrap with wire to form a hanger and hang in a window to enjoy it as you walk by.
These are just a few different ideas that I’ve come up with to use my Glass Art projects on. Use your imagination and come up with some unique glass home decor projects of your own.
