Turn a set of stamped cross stitch bibs into an adorable pocket for baby’s stuffed animals. Hang the stuffed pocket on the side of a crib or add a dowel through the tabs and hang it on a wall.
Instructions
STEP 1:
Cut two 27" x 22" rectangles from the lightweight fabric.
STEP 2:
Trim the stitched bibs to 6" squares.
STEP 3:
From the ribbon, cut two 6" pieces for the tabs and two 28" pieces for trimming the bib squares.
STEP 4:
Place the fabric rectangles together with the right sides facing. Sew them together around all four sides, using a 1/2" seam allowance and leaving a 4" opening on one side. Turn the panel right side out and slip stitch the opening closed.
STEP 5:
Sew the bib squares to the fabric panel as shown.
STEP 6:
Cover the edges of the bib squares with the ribbon, folding and mitering the corners. Stitch the ribbon in place working just inside the edges on both sides of the ribbon.
STEP 7:
Fold the panel as shown to make the pocket. Stitch through all layers 1/4" in on each side, then in the middle. Fold the ribbon for the tabs in half and stitch them to the back of the panel.
