This fun friendship mini book is sure to inspire all types of crafters with its use of patterned paper, stamps and punches. Don’t be afraid to mix all kinds of media in order to create your masterpiece!
Instructions
STEP 1:
Untie string at binding that holds book together. Take book apart and cover pages and book cover with patterned papers. Ink all edges. Punch holes through binding and tag tip on pages and cover using Screw Punch tool. Reassemble book and tie string back around binding.
STEP 2:
FOR COVER: Using cat stamp and various ink colors, stamp cats on white cardstock and cut out with retractable craft knife. Apply mini gems on collars, tie ribbons on tails and adhere to bottom edge of cover using 1/16 inch and 1/8 inch adhesive foam circles.
STEP 3:
Spell out title of book with alphabet stickers and mini alpha stickers.
STEP 4:
Cut out canary outline from brown cardstock. Cut yellow cardstock body and punch various sized circles from blue cardstock and adhere to yellow. Adhere brown outline over top of yellow body, and then entire piece to top left corner of front cover using 1/8 inch adhesive foam circles.
STEP 5:
Tie ribbons around string at binding and a thick ribbon through hole to keep book closed.
STEP 6:
INSIDE PAGES: Create inside pages using various arrangements of photos, copy blocks and embellishments.
STEP 7:
Create additional stamped cats like ones on the front to use throughout book.
STEP 8:
Punch medium retro flowers, ink edges and adhere for decoration. Place gems and pearls in centers.
STEP 9:
Stamp bird phrases on white cardstock, trim, ink edges and apply ribbons to one end. Place randomly on pages.
STEP 10:
Use photo corner punches to embellish photo and copy block corners.
STEP 11:
Be sure to ink all edges of pieces used (except for photos and cats) before adhering them to pages.
