Everyone in your “flock” will know their job for the week when you display this fun Chore Chart. The mini box “pockets” are simple to make with your score blade and a bone folder. Make a larger version, complete with note cards to give as gifts for friends and family!
Instructions
STEP 1:
To create chore chart, paint metal sign with white spray paint.
STEP 2:
Cover inside area of sign with blue dotted paper. Add border by punching out scalloped scallop design on yellow cardstock. Add thin cardstock strips of turquoise to edge of scallops.
STEP 3:
Cut small piece of large blue dotted paper for the house. Make roof shape using brown patterned paper. Add green checkered ribbon to roof.
STEP 4:
Add flowers and buttons to house and pop up bird sticker to put on roof.
STEP 5:
Each tag box pocket uses TWO pieces of 3 x 2 1/2 inch turquoise cardstock. Score 1/2 inch in from each short side and one of the long sides. Use bone folder to make crisp folds.
STEP 6:
Snip in 1/2 inch on long side at each of the creases (go to where creases intersect). Fold small snipped pieces into the center and adhere. This becomes the front of the box. Make another piece exactly the same and adhere INSIDE of first piece to become back of the box.
STEP 7:
Add 1/2 inch strips of brown dotted paper close to the top of each box. Adhere boxes to metal sign. Print chore assignments on small scraps of yellow and adhere to each box.
STEP 8:
Cut small yellow tags to fit in each box. Add a tiny strip of brown dotted paper to top of each strip. Add names of family member to each tag.
STEP 9:
Add 3 dimensional flower stickers to top right side of sign to provide balance.
STEP 10:
Complete project by adding a bow to the hanger at the top.
STEP 11:
To create card box, cut two pieces of blue dotted paper 8 inches x 5 1/2 inches. Score 1 inch in on both short sides and on one of the long sides. Do this with both pieces.
STEP 12:
On the long side that you scored, cut up at the crease until you reach where the creases intersect (you are cutting up 1 inch). Fold the flaps in and adhere. Do this with both pieces. One of these pieces is the box front and one is the box back. Add adhesive to the sides and bottom of one piece and slip it down inside the other to form the box.
STEP 13:
To make the lid, cut two pieces of aqua cardstock that are 8 3/8 x 2 1/2 inches. Score 1 inch in on both short sides and on one long side. On the long side that you creased, make snips up to the where the creased lines intersect. Add adhesive to these flaps and put the two pieces together as you did the box in step 2 above. Punch a scalloped edge on 2 inch strips of yellow cardstock. Adhere scallops to inside of box lip. Add ribbon just above scallop on outside of box.
STEP 14:
Punch 1 1/4 inch scallop circle from brown dotted paper. Adhere bird sticker to this scalloped circle. Punch 1 1/4 inch circle from yellow cardstock. Adhere scalloped circle to this circle. Adhere close to bottom of box and add bow. Use scraps to create small note cards to add inside box. Cards that are 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 inches (finished size) fit perfectly.
