Spotted Canary Stamped Nest Centerpiece

Instructions

STEP 1:

Paint edges of box with white paint, allow to dry.

STEP 2:

Create “FLY” Tag - Cut tag from cardstock. Stamp bird with blue ink over tag. On white cardstock, stamp branch with blue ink, heat set. Stamp “FLY” with brown ink over branch, heat set. Layer stamped piece onto the tag with yellow and light blue cardstock, trim edges. Punch a circle from brown cardstock; add white eyelet and yellow ribbon. Custom blend glitter to match blue and brown inks and highlight stamped images with glitter. Embellish with stickers.

STEP 3:

Create “ART” Tag - Cut tag from brown cardstock, round corners. Stamp branches with brown ink on tag, heat set. Embellish with stickers, gems, and string.

STEP 4:

Create “Bliss” Tag - Punch two circles from cardstock; glue to each other. Embellish with sticker and ribbon.

STEP 5:

Create woven edge - Cut eight 1/2 x 12 inch strips of yellow cardstock. Cut several 1/2 x 4 inch strips of light yellow cardstock. Using removable painters tape, tape four strips of yellow cardstock side by side to your desk or cutting mat (tape lightly on just one end). Weave shorter light yellow strips into long yellow strips. Repeat with the other four yellow cardstock strips.

STEP 6:

Attach one woven piece to the top edge of the box by folding over into the box 3 or 4 short strips at a time, securing with wide packing tape. Continue folding over and taping inside the whole woven piece. Blend other woven piece into the first piece, securing in the same way and trimming and weaving together as needed. Tape all around the bottom of the woven strips with packing tape (this will be covered).

STEP 7:

Punch Swiss Cheese Edger along two strips of yellow cardstock. Adhere yellow punched strips to blue strips then to brown strips; set aside.

STEP 8:

To create stripes, cut several pieces of cardstock of random widths and colors. Stamp branches on the white strips with blue ink; heat set ink. Attach stripes around box. Add a little custom blended glitter to the branches. Glue Swiss Cheese punched strip around the box. Glue ribbon trim around the base of the box.

STEP 9:

Punch holes in sides of the box where the Swiss Cheese punched strips meet. Cover with punched circles. Add artificial wired branch to make a tall handle.

STEP 10:

Hot glue a piece of floral foam inside the box. Cover floral foam with Angel Vine.

STEP 11:

Secure artificial nest with a piece of wire pushed into the foam. Decorate nest with eggs, feather, and bird if desired. Add additional Angel Vine to the nest and around the handle.

STEP 12:

Embellish handle and box with assorted ribbons and buttons.

STEP 13:

Tie tags to the centerpiece.

STEP 14:

Cut a blue circle slightly larger than the bottom of the box; adhere to the bottom or just set centerpiece on top of it.
