Use a stamp to make this gorgeous cameo, or use your own image to create a beautiful cameo any recipient would be happy to wear.
Instructions
STEP 1:
Stamp image on white cardstock. If the head doesn’t stamp completely black, no worries we can fix that later. Cut head out from cardstock. If the image isn’t as black as you want it, swipe the black ink pad over it several time until it is the desired color.
STEP 2:
Glue book page to wooden disk, burnish to remove any bubbles and allow to dry. Cut excess away using sharp pointed scissors. Follow the same process to add the patterned paper to the backside.
STEP 3:
Glue head to center of disk, over top of the dictionary page. Hot Fix Crystals to resemble a necklace on the cameo. Set Hot Fix with an iron according to the instructions.
STEP 4:
When glue is dry, paint several coats of clear nail polish over top. Allow each coat to dry completely in between. Cover both sides of disk with nail polish.
STEP 5:
Drill hole at the top of the disk as shown in the example.
STEP 6:
Wrap copper tape around the sides of the disk; sometimes you can find 1/4 inch silver tape that will coordinate with your crimp beads and clasp. Burnish tape to make sure it adheres to the disk.
STEP 7:
Decide what length you want the necklace to be and add a couple of inches to it. Attach the clasp to one end of the necklace using a crimp bead and the crimping tool.
STEP 8:
Work out the pattern that you want the beads to have and add them to the necklace.
STEP 9:
Add the jump ring to the other end of the necklace.
STEP 10:
Attach a jump ring to the disk when the nail polish is completely dry on both sides and attach to the very center of the necklace.
