A Spotted Canary Project by brushnbecky

25 March 2009

Get your guests involved before the party even begins with this exciting interactive invitation!

Instructions

STEP 1:

Cut a piece of beach pattern paper that is 4 x 5.5 inches. Fasten a strip of solid beach paper close to the bottom of the card with mini brads in the ends as shown.

STEP 2:

To make the waterfall, take a 2 x 9 inch piece of patterned paper and score at 2, 2.75, 3.5, & 4.25 inches. Accordion fold along scored lines.

STEP 3:

Slip longest side of the folded piece under the strip that you attached to the card front. Fold the other end of the scored piece down over the front of the card. Adhere this piece to the strip matching up the end of the folded piece with the bottom of the paper strip.

STEP 4:

Cut 4 one inch squares out of coordinating pattern papers. Adhere the first piece to the bottom 2 x 2 inch space at the scored end of the folded strip.

STEP 5:

Apply adhesive to the other three scored sections, starting from the bottom, and adhere each of the 2 inch squares to one of the sections. Once these pieces are all attached, you will be able to pull the strip from the bottom and the images will flip down one at a time. Be sure that you do NOT put any adhesive on the back of the strip that runs across the bottom of the card. The waterfall piece must be free to move up and down under the strip.

STEP 6:

Add stickers and invitation information to each of the squares. Note: If you wish to use the computer to print your party information, you will need to run each of the squares through the computer before adhering (steps 4 & 5).

STEP 7:

Remove foam adhesive from the back of metal beach tag and adhere the top ONLY to the bottom of the pull down strip. Add a ribbon bow to hide the hole in the top of the tag. If desired, you can fasten a piece of ribbon with Fastenater staple bars to the bottom instead of using a metal tag.

STEP 8:

Mat the entire card on a solid paper.
