What could be better than a stunning royal necklace to make for your wedding? Your guests will be knocked off their feet when they discover you created it yourself. This necklace is just dripping with crystal elements in boldness, beauty and bling.
Instructions
STEP 1:
Top Layer
a. Lay the chandelier units opposite each other
b. Attach a crimp bead to one end of a 7” piece of flexible stringing wire and the top loop of the left chandelier unit.
c. Thread 4” of beads onto the stringing wire as shown or as desired.
d. When done with stringing, attach crimp to end with other chandelier unit on top ring
STEP 2:
Second Layer
a. Cut three 1” pieces of chain.
b. Use eye pins to create connector units as desired or as shown: one 4mm bicone bead each of Violet and Tanzanite (make 4); one 4mm Violet Opal bicone bead (make 2).
c. Connect the double bead connector to a single by opening up and closing the loop gently with chain nose pliers. Connect the single connector to another double bead connector. Set aside and repeat with remaining connectors.
d. Alternate one chain piece with the tri-beaded connector unit to create the second row of the necklace.
e. Attached finished chain to the second ring of the chandelier units.
STEP 3:
Third Layer
a. Attach a crimp bead to one end of a 9” piece of flexible stringing wire and the center loop of the left chandelier unit.
b. Thread about 5” of beads onto the stringing wire as shown or as desired.
c. When done with stringing, attach crimp to end with other chandelier unit on top ring.
STEP 4:
Fourth Layer
a. Attach 7 ½” of chain to the fourth rings on the chandelier units.
b. Use head pins to create 13 dangles with bicone beads as desired or as shown: 6mm Lt Amethyst (make 4); 4mm Violet Opal (make 2); 6mm Tanzanite (make 3); 4mm Violet Opal (make 6)
c. Attach the dangles to the chain alternating sizes and colors for attractive balance.
STEP 5:
Fifth Layer
a. Attach a crimp bead to one end of a 12” piece of flexible stringing wire and the bottom loop of the left chandelier unit.
b. Thread 9” of beads onto the stringing wire as shown or as desired.
c. When done with stringing, attach crimp to end with other chandelier unit on bottom ring.
STEP 6:
Finish Necklace
a. Crimp a 7” flexible stringing wire on the top loop of one chandelier unit.
b. Thread up to 5” of beads (or to desired size) onto the stringing wire as shown or as desired.
c. When done with stringing, attach crimp to one end of closure unit.
d. Repeat for other side of necklace and closure.
e. To finish necklace, test crimps for security and then trim free wire ends with cutters.
f. Necklace sample size shown is a princess length of 20” (measured from top layer). Drape of necklace falls to almost 24” long at bottom or fifth layer.
