Make a truly unique necklace that commemorates the month that your special person was born. Reference our Birthstone chart and then select a pendant enhanced with crystals to match the month color. Enhance the necklace with crystal beads along the neck chain to refine and finish the look.
Instructions
STEP 1:
With a pair of chain nose pliers in each hand, locate the split in the jump ring.
STEP 2:
Gently open the jump ring by moving one hand away from you and the other towards you
STEP 3:
To close jump ring, reverse the opening step
STEP 4:
Thread crystal bead onto headpin.
STEP 5:
Use the chain nose pliers to bend the wire to 90 degree angle
STEP 6:
Use the cutter to trim headpin wire to about ½” from the bend
STEP 7:
Use the round nose pliers to grip the end of the wire and bend it towards you to form a loop.
NOTE: if making a connector, simply start with an eye pin and finish with an eye pin loop.
STEP 8:
Begin by creating the crystal connectors using an eye pin to start and then making an eye pin loop at the end. Create the patterns as shown here or design your own to suit your style and personality. Create 6 units of the following pattern using 4mm bicone beads: Lt Amethyst, Amethyst, Lt Amethyst.
STEP 9:
Create dangles using a head pin to start and then making an eye pin loop at the end. Make 6 dangles of 4mm Violet Opal bicone beads.
STEP 10:
Cut the chain into the following lengths: 6 cut to 1 ¼” long and 2 cut to 5” long.
STEP 11:
Use a jump ring to connect the center pendant and two 1 ¼” of chain together.
STEP 12:
Create the symmetrical pattern, alternating the chain pieces with the beaded connectors. Add the dangles as desired or as shown.
STEP 13:
Attach lobster claw and jump ring to make closure.
STEP 14:
Necklace sample size shown is 20”, princess length.
