A Spotted Canary Project by brushnbecky

27 March 2009

Celebrate the 4th of July in style with this delightful bandage tin album. I love to do mini albums and package them in unique boxes and tins to give as gifts. The recipient enjoys the decorated container - but has an extra surprise when they find what is hidden inside!

Instructions

STEP 1:

Cover top portion of bandage box with red paper.

STEP 2:

Cover bottom portion of box with dot patterned paper.

STEP 3:

Cover lid and rim around lid with blue paper.

STEP 4:

Adhere a piece of the star ribbon around box where two papers on the bottom meet. Tie a knot in a small piece of this same ribbon - but before tightening it all the way, thread a small chain through the knot. Adhere bow to ribbon.

STEP 5:

Punch out tag from folded paper. To make a folded tag using tag punch, insert a folded piece of paper into punch so that the folded end is just INSIDE the top of the tag shape on the punch. When you punch, the fold will not be cut off and you will have a tag that opens at the top!

STEP 6:

Add a small piece of red paper to top of tag and 2 narrow white strips to top and bottom of tag as shown. Stamp tag with “summer fun” stamp. Add small piece of white inside tag for journaling.

STEP 7:

Make mini book using 4.75 x 2.5 inch pieces of chipboard.

STEP 8:

Adhere solid red or blue papers on each chipboard page and round corners with small rounder.

STEP 9:

Add a strip of dot patterned paper to each page to add detail.

STEP 10:

Stamp “4th of July” on red cardstock. Punch out with 1.5 inch circle punch. Punch out separate larger circle from red. Adhere the two circles together and add to front cover of mini book as shown.

STEP 11:

Add pictures and journaling on pages of book. You can also add some of the stamped images from the 4th of July set to pages as they fit your theme.

STEP 12:

Punch a hole in the top corner of each of your pages and insert a small chain or ribbon.
