A Spotted Canary Project by CMScanlon

1 February 2010

In some cultures butterflies are the symbol of the rebirth of your soul; make this sympathy card as a comfort to someone grieving the loss of a loved one. The "Thinking of You" sentiment is also perfect for encouragement or other friendship cards. Or swap out the sentiment stamp to match this beautiful card to any holiday or card giving occasion.

Instructions

STEP 1:

Stamp two butterflies and sentiment on cream cardstock. Carefully cut out butterflies.

STEP 2:

Swipe VersaMark pad over edges of butterflies and apply Iridescent Red Perfect Pearls.

STEP 3:

Trim sentiment, crumple and swipe with VersaMark pad and apply Iridescent Red Perfect Pearls.

STEP 4:

Trim patterned paper to desired size and adhere to kraft card.

STEP 5:

Paint corrugated cardboard with white paint, then ink edges with pink ink.

STEP 6:

Mat sentiment on corrugated cardboard, mat again on pink cardstock, adhere to card as shown.

STEP 7:

Add brown ribbon as shown. Stitch around edges of sentiment, pink mat and patterned paper using brown thread.

STEP 8:

Add a butterfly in each of the lower corners.
