A Spotted Canary Project by Studio Pink

14 December 2011

Ring in the New Year with a party invitation that will set the tone for a fabulous event!

Instructions

STEP 1:

Finished card measures approximately 6x7 folded at the top. Note that all stamped images will be heat embossed with black embossing powder.

STEP 2:

Fold black cardstock in half. Where the fold line is cut a circle approximately 5 1/2 in diameter. Remember to keep a tab at the fold line to keep the circles together.

STEP 3:

Cut a polka dotted circle 5 inches in diameter. Mat this piece on white cardstock and trim out with scalloped scissors.

STEP 4:

Cut a clock face from white and black patterned paper measuring 4 inches in diameter. Mat it on purple cardstock.

STEP 5:

Put all the circles together to create the face of the clock.

STEP 6:

Cut a circle in half to create the yellow top on the alarm clock. I didn’t use a pattern. I just cut a circle in half with a knob on it. Stamp it with a plaid background stamp. Adhere it at the top of the clock to hide the circle connector.

STEP 7:

Embellish the face of the clock with number stamps and letter stickers.

STEP 8:

Cut the clock’s hands from red cardstock. Stamp clock hands with the Party Party Party stamp. Stamp a button and add a dot sticker to show how they are connected together.

STEP 9:

Punch white cardstock circles glitter, leaving a small spot at the top of each circle unglittered so that you can add adhesive to it later. Allow glitter glue to dry and adhere circles on the bottom, back side of the card as little clock feet.

STEP 10:

FOR CARD INSIDE: Print party information and cut it out in a scalloped, circle shape. (approximately 5 inches in diameter)

STEP 11:

Add stamped brackets, stamped numbers, and a party ticket stamped and colored in with a sparkly marker.

STEP 12:

Decorate with stars and confetti stickers from the Happy New Year sticker sheet.

STEP 13:

You will need a larger envelop for this invitation. It can cost you more to mail. Check postage rates and envelops sizes before creating invitation. You may want to alter its size to make it more affordable to send. Add a magnet to the back of the invitation so party guest can hang it on their fridge and help them remember when the party is.
