Ring in the school year with a hand stamped lunch tote filled to the brim with useful and clever gift teachers can’t get enough of!
Instructions
STEP 1:
To create the Canvas Tote: Start with largest circles from the stamp set and place in the center of the canvas tote. Place a hard book inside your canvas bag to give you a sturdy surface for stamping on. If your stamp doesn’t go on quite like expected, then use a marker to fill in any unstamped areas.
STEP 2:
Add more circles to create an apple tree using several shades of green ink.
STEP 3:
Stamp only half of the trunk of the tree from the Mehndi border stamp set. Use scrap paper so the color of the stamp doesn’t get on your tote.
STEP 4:
Sprinkle stamped design with embossing powder and heat set.
STEP 5:
Cut the center of the apple tree’s trunk from the wool felt. Sew a running stitch on the trunk of the tree through the canvas tote.
STEP 6:
Embellish the apple tree with red buttons.
STEP 7:
Sew grass and a couple of “x’s” under the tree.
STEP 8:
Tie a ribbon to the bag and you are ready to fill with goodies.
STEP 9:
To decorate Hand Sanitizer: Using red dot patterned paper, cut scallops on both sides and adhere to the center of the bottle. Stamp: “Everybody who thinks life is complicated: hold up your hand” on tan cardstock. Double matte stamped image onto dark brown cardstock and then onto a lighter shade of brown cardstock. Adhere the saying to the bottle and add a red button. Wrap brown ribbon around the bottle and tie a bow at the top of the bottle.
STEP 10:
To decorate Chocolate Candy Bar: Cover candy wrapper with dark brown cardstock. Cut a scallop border to be placed along the top of the candy bar using red dot patterned paper. Secure red ribbon through the center of the candy bar. Add button on and under the red ribbon. Stamp the kid’s quote onto tan cardstock. Double matte the quote in two shades of brown. Secure the quote to the wrapper and add a tied bow next to it.
STEP 11:
To decorate Notebook Paper: Wrap a scalloped brown piece of cardstock around the top of the notepaper. Cut a thin strip of red dot patterned paper and place in the center of the brown scallop. Stamp “What’s the Word, Bird” onto tan cardstock. Place the word strip near the left margin of the note book. Stamp the bird image and fill in the color on it with colored pencils. Add a few rhinestones for added sparkle. Pop dot bird image on the note paper.
STEP 12:
To decorate Candy Jar: Wrap red dot patterned paper around the jar. Stamp tree on tan cardstock and emboss. Stamp the tree image again and emboss it. Cut out the circle section of the tree and add foam mounting tape behind it for depth. Cut a leaf and stem from cardstock and add it to a red button to create an apple. Place the apple on the stamped tree image. Double matte the apple tree with brown cardstock and secure the red dot band around the jar. Place nested scallop punched red dot and brown cardstock images on the lid of the jar. Stamp random alphabet letters and cut out with a circle punch. Place it in the center of the scallops. Fill jar with candy! Yummy!
