I recently acquired some 1940's stamps from all over the world and decided to use them in my "Art Under Glass" jewelry.
Instructions
STEP 1:
Chose your inspiration stamp
STEP 2:
Cut 2 matching pieces of glass to sandwich your assemblage
STEP 3:
Collect pressed dried botanicals and coordinating art papers
STEP 4:
Start layering pieces from back to front on one of the pieces of glass placing your stamp in the front
STEP 5:
Holding pieces of glass together turn the whole piece over
STEP 6:
Take glass off and add large botanical like the pansy and other petals or pieces of art papers to make the back of the piece as interesting as the front
STEP 7:
Use copper foil to hold the 2 glass pieces together and seal the four sides
STEP 8:
Heat up soldering iron
STEP 9:
Flux the copper foil
STEP 10:
Solder around all 4 sides
STEP 11:
Solder 2 jump rings on
STEP 12:
Let cool. Then clean.
STEP 13:
Cut flex wire to longer than your desired length and attach through the jump rings with crimp beads
STEP 14:
String your beads. Attach to toggle clasp with crimp beads. Cut off excess wire.
(For extra strength you can add a drop of jeweler's glue to each crimp)
