These intricate and realistic flowers will add a punch to your spring decor.
Instructions
STEP 1:
To Create Jonquil Center: Punch a piece of yellow cardstock with the doily petal punch. Cut each petal separate from the border paper. Make one cut with scissors half way down the center of the doily petal. Make two more additional cuts one each side of the center cuts. Do not cut petal apart. Repeat procedure for the remaining three petals. The cuts will create the flowers pistils.
STEP 2:
Hot glue the four doily petals pieces to a plant stick. Glue one petal at North, South, East, and West on the stick. Roll glued paper between fingers to secure petals to plant stick.
STEP 3:
To Create Jonquil Center Petal: Punch one white scalloped circle. Fold circle in half then in half again. Open and shape the center by hand by creasing all folds. Pierce a hole in the center of the creased scallop circle. Slide onto stick and hot glue under Jonquil center.
STEP 4:
To Create Jonquil Outer Petals: Punch one yellow flower with flower punch. Pierce a hole in the center of the flower petals. Bend each petal in half and crease to give dimension to the petals. Slide petals up plant stick and hot glue under white center.
STEP 5:
To Create Calyx: Punch 3 scallop circles from the green paper. Pierce a hole in the center of one circle. Slide up the plant stick and hot glue under petals. Finesse the flower's shape by molding into shape with hands.
STEP 6:
To Create Leaves: Cut the remaining 2 scallop circles in half to create leaves. Place one leaf about 1 1/2” under flower. Roll end of leaf around plant stick. Unroll and repeat step, hot gluing in place. Glue another 2 leaves onto the plant stick leaving a 1/2” space between each leaf.
STEP 7:
Continue making flowers until desired amount have been created. The most efficient procedure would be to cut and punch all pieces, then assemble.
STEP 8:
To make daffodils, change the white center petal to yellow.
