A Spotted Canary Project by Nifty Thrifty

8 September 2009

An empty recyclable container and a few spare buttons will save the day while waiting in a doctor’s office or for a meal in a restaurant. This is a perfect game for a family on the go.

Instructions

STEP 1:

Cover the inside and the outside of the box with your choice of pattern paper. Use fancy cut scissors for a decorative edge on the box

STEP 2:

Make a game board grid using black cardstock or a black marker

STEP 3:

Place magnets under buttons. I used magnetic sheets that already had sticky on them. They were like giant sticker sheets.

STEP 4:

Add the title under the lid of the box. Place extra button game piece inside the lid

STEP 5:

Tie with a ribbon closed so the buttons won’t come out and get lost in your purse or travel bag

STEP 6:

TIPS FOR SUCCESS: Use anything you have at home to make the game pieces. For example, 2 different sized googly eyes, bottle caps for a larger game board, or 2 different types of stickers. Recycle and reuse something in your junk drawer.
