An old T-Shirt makes not only a cozy lounge outfit but it also becomes a unique necklace.

Instructions

STEP 1:

Cut the T-shirt on its side seam, under the sleeve and all the way up to the neckline.

STEP 2:

Open up the T-Shirt and cut a 1 to 2 inch snip in the material. Tear the T-Shirt so you will have a long piece that curls together.

STEP 3:

You will need approximately 9 torn pieces. I made mine a variety of widths.

STEP 4:

Tie knots in the strips in random places.

STEP 5:

Sew on crystals and beads with thread.

STEP 6:

Place the ends of one side of the strips together.

STEP 7:

Cut a small square of left-over T-Shirt material and sew the strips to it. I ran my on my sewing machine but you could hand stitch them. They won’t show.

STEP 8:

Repeat step 7 at the opposite end of the strips.

STEP 9:

Place the ends together and cut an additional piece of T-Shirt material to roll around the ends of the strips. I sewed this piece onto my necklace on my machine. It went through all the layers.

Don’t worry too much about how the connected part of the T-Shirt looks. It will be at your collar.
