Easy Mini Books

Scrapbooking can be overwhelming. Like you, I have stacks of photos that need attention. But I also have other people in my life that need attention. It has taken me years to accept that I will never be one of those “got my books all caught up” kind of people. I think that making the memories with your friends and family is most important. Let the memory preservation come when time permits. I have accepted never being caught up by focusing on one thing at a time, and for me creating easy mini books is a great solution.
There is a lot of joy in sitting down with a stack of photos from one event and quickly putting the story together. My cupcake mini book includes just a few snapshots taken the day my second child was born. I started with a blank chipboard mini book and added a few coordinating papers and embellishments to craft a special keepsake that did not take a lot of time to create.
You can also repurpose a regular store-bought photo album or use a photo scrap album. These are a hybrid of photo albums and scrapbooks, and in my eyes they are the best of both worlds. You can either slip your photos in, journal and call it done, or you can add a few coordinating embellishments for added personalization. This flexibility makes them great for both beginner and advanced crafters.
Whether you use a chipboard album, a photo scrap album or make your own, I hope you take a stack of those photos and make something meaningful for you or a loved one—the process will be fun and the gift will last forever.
