A Spotted Canary Project by Kabby

17 January 2011

Create this wonderful and fun mini trash container out of a recycled milk carton.

Instructions

STEP 1:

Open milk carton completely at top, and paint carton with white paint. Let dry.

STEP 2:

Cut black paper and adhere to each side and panel of carton.

STEP 3:

Apply turquoise swash adhesive border to two panels at top.

STEP 4:

On one side of carton, lightly draw a skewed square. Cut along sides and bottom using a craft knife. This is area that can be pushed in to deposit scraps. Cut a square from turquoise polka dot patterned paper, use postage stamp edger punch on edges, and mat with white cardstock. Adhere to carton on skewed square. Apply black glitter alphabet letters to spell “push here.”

STEP 5:

Cut two equal strips of turquoise polka dot paper. Use postage stamp-edger and punch on long sides. Mat with white cardstock. Wrap around carton towards bottom. Apply alphabet letters.

STEP 6:

Punch several 2 1/2” circles from green patterned paper. Cut into pieces and adhere randomly to all sides of carton.

STEP 7:

Embellish all sides with adhesive chipboard, flower stickers, and clearly yours words stickers.

STEP 8:

Push top back together and punch two holes. Tie ribbons to close. Untie to empty scraps.

STEP 9:

Tip for Success: Be sure to wash out the milk carton well and let dry for at least 24 hours before decorating.
