A Spotted Canary Project by Spotted Canary Creations

17 April 2009

Cut and paste your title and journaling for this creative layout from magazines and even a dictionary definition!

Instructions

STEP 1:

Mat two photos on blue cardstock. Mat again on distressed patterned paper. Adhere to cardstock as shown in the example. If your distressing caused rips on your paper or missing corners, slide scraps of patterned paper underneath the matted photos as shown.

STEP 2:

Mat third photo on patterned paper. Use the same paper that you used underneath the photo mat in step one.

STEP 3:

Cut dictionary definitions to describe what the photos are of and adhere them directly to the photos.

STEP 4:

Cut title from magazines. If you can’t find the exact word that you need, cut out each letter and spell the word you need. Adhere to page with glue stick.

STEP 5:

Cut journaling words from old book and arrange them over top of one of your photos. When satisfied with the journaling adhere directly to photo using the glue stick.

STEP 6:

Using your sewing machine, stitch around all photos. Also stitch around photo mat as shown. Use the edge of your paper as a guide to stitch straight lines on your page. If the edge is too far away, use a pencil to make a light mark to use as a stitching guide.
