28 September 2011

This is something fun and easy to create with your children or a great activity for a children’s Halloween party. Each child can take their own creation home.

Instructions

STEP 1:

1. Make cookie mix as directed and shape into circles for base of houses. One pouch makes about 4 bases. Use any extra to make any shapes desired such as ghosts or tombstones by hand or with ...cookie cutters. Or you can use graham crackers instead but they are much harder to shape and break easily. Bake as directed. 2. Remove from oven and before it cools completely press graham crackers for house, any shapes like tombstones and pretzel posts (for fence) to give the bases of decorations more anchor into base. 3. Cover base with chocolate frosting. Use frosting as “mortar” to paste walls of house together. 4. Crush Oreos and sprinkle over frosting as “dirt”. 5. Use frosting as “mortar” to place shingles (Golden Graham cereal) on roof of house. 6. Decorate with different color icings and use sprinkles for path to door. 7. Make pumpkins or any other shapes with fondant. 8. Use frosting as mortar and build fence with pretzels. You can buy any other food you like to decorate.
