A Spotted Canary Project by CMScanlon

8 July 2009

This beautiful pencil holder is the perfect gift for your child to make for his or her teacher and can be adapted to any motif.

Instructions

STEP 1:

Cut patterned paper to fit the height of the can and apply with double stick tape.

STEP 2:

Use a hot glue gun to apply the twill, gluing only where the ends meet. Use the same technique to apply the craft seam binding. When using a hot glue gun with children, make sure they do not touch the hot glue as they will get burned.

STEP 3:

Apply the pleated embellishment over top.

STEP 4:

Fill with a bag of sand or beans to hold the pencils upright.
