A Spotted Canary Project by Studio Pink

8 September 2009

Spread some party magic with a hand-made sparkly princess wand.  It is fit for a party queen and her court.

Instructions

STEP 1:

Cut the dole rod to desired length and strip with paint.

STEP 2:

Paint styrofoam balls and glitter them. Add pink rhinestones to the purple styrofoam ball.

STEP 3:

Slide all 3 balls onto the dole rod leaving approximately 3-4 inches from the top of the dole rod.

STEP 4:

Paint the spool, ball, and knob desired colors. While paint is wet, sprinkle glitter on it for extra shine.

STEP 5:

Attach to the bottom of the dole rod and add a butterfly sticker to the end.

STEP 6:

Fan fold striped paper and cut with fancy cut scissors to create the base for the star.

STEP 7:

Attach the accordion folded base to the top of the dole rod.

STEP 8:

Trace around two circles and cut them out with fancy cut scissors. Layer them on to the accordion folded base

STEP 9:

For extra sparkle you may want to add glitter to the edges of these pieces.

STEP 10:

Create a beveled star and cut from pattern paper.

STEP 11:

Score each point of the star and fold towards the center. Add a dole rod piece behind the star to help keep its shape. Add more glitter to the star.

STEP 12:

Finish magic wand by tying on trim and ribbon.
