What little girl doesn't love to dance and twirl? Help her celebrate that joy with this adorable altered frame. Swap out the paper and embellishments to coordinate with any child's interests!
Instructions
STEP 1:
Lay patterned paper with the pattern you want to use facing down. Place frame face-down on top of paper and trace around outside edge with a pencil. Open the back (where you would put the picture in) and trace around the picture hole.
STEP 2:
Cut carefully around the outside edge that you traced onto the patterned paper.
STEP 3:
To cut around the inside photo hole, snip a small spot in the center of the hole then cut out the center from there, following along the traced line.
STEP 4:
Cover the entire front surface of the frame (not counting the center photo area) with a thin layer of glue.
STEP 5:
Line up the trimmed piece of patterned paper and stick it onto the front of the frame. Be sure that the pattern you want on the front is facing out and is right-side-up! Smooth out the paper and be sure that all edges are firmly stuck down. Set aside until glue is completely dry.
STEP 6:
Run ink pad(s) along all edges of the frame. This will add detail to your edges and can also help cover up any spots where your paper might not completely cover the frame’s edge. You can use any color(s) that you like with your design; the frame shown here uses a light lavender and a light pink.
STEP 7:
Line up your letters the way you want them; be sure to double-check the spelling! Stick them to the frame with foam adhesive.
STEP 8:
Add stickers and place your photo inside the window – and you’re done!
