A Spotted Canary Project by Kabby

3 June 2010

To engage dad in crafting, try this simple and very quick checker board game together. Supplies are minimal, and the end result is fun, and will be a lasting project to use again and again.  Customize the set by swapping out the colors and stickers to customize any kid's preferences - or to make the gift perfect for other favorite friends and family!

Instructions

STEP 1:

Cover one piece of 12 x 12 chipboard with black cardstock.

STEP 2:

Punch squares from blue and red cardstock using square punch. Adhere them to the base to create Checker Board, leaving 1/8 inch between each square.

STEP 3:

Create playing pieces using second sheet of chipboard. Punch 24 circles from chipboard and cover each with black cardstock circles. Apply baseball, tennis ball, basketball and soccer ball stickers to each circle. One player uses the small balls, and the other player uses the larger balls.

You can score board in the middle to fold for traveling or easy storage.
