Finding an old Vogue magazine at the antique store was all the inspiration that I needed to make a one-of-a-kind piece of vintage bracelet flair with soldering techniques. Check out the basic soldering techniques under resources to learn more about making this project.
Instructions
STEP 1:
To create bracelet. stamp the letter of your choice on a piece of notebook paper or scrapbook pattern paper.
STEP 2:
Make sure the image matches the size glass you have chosen. The image should be smaller than the glass to allow for the copper foil to wrap around the glass.
STEP 3:
Wrap the glass with copper foil and burnish it to the glass with a popsicle stick.
STEP 4:
Flux the copper foil and solder.
STEP 5:
Add a jump ring to the top of the charm.
STEP 6:
Attach the charm to the bracelet with a jump ring. Make sure to use 2 pliers to open and close your jump ring. Don’t pull the jump ring apart. Gently twist it open and then back closed.
STEP 7:
Attach your vintage buttons with jump rings to the bracelet. You could add jump rings all the way around your bracelet. Designer Tip: I like to solder my jump rings closed so I don’t lose charms or buttons with time and wear.
