A Spotted Canary Project by Spotted Canary Creations

1 February 2010

Pure pink beauty is the statement behind this necklace made up of a crystal heart pendant with crystal clusters. It all ties together with a luxurious double strand of pearls, spiked with crystal bicone beads.  Perfect for your favorite Valentine, as a special birthday or Mother's Day gift, or for yourself!

Instructions

Pretty in Pink Necklace - Image 2

STEP 1:

Begin the necklace by wire-wrapping the heart pendant making the hanger area about 3/8” long – this allows extra space for the dangles to cluster. Set pendant aside.

STEP 2:

Create crystal dangles using beads in the following colors, sizes and quantities: 6mm White crystal pearl (make 2), 6mm Rose Water Opal crystal bicone bead (make 2), 6mm Vintage Rose crystal bicone bead (make 2), and 6mm Lt Rose crystal bicone bead (make 2).

STEP 3:

Attach all of the crystal dangles around the top-drill wire wrap area. Play with them to flow nicely around the pieces. Set clustered pendant aside.

STEP 4:

Start stringing 6mm pearls and crystal bicones onto 22 inch length of wire working from center out as desired or following random bead pattern shown: every 5 or 3 groups of pearls are interspersed with a 6mm bicone alternating Crystal AB, Rose Water Opal or Pink colors. Repeat stringing pattern until you have strung to about a 9 inch length, then pass through the pendant and clusters and continue stringing pattern until at total length of 18 inches. Clamp off each end with a bead stopper.

STEP 5:

Repeat same process with the other stringing wire. Start the stringing pattern in a different place to show contrast. Remember to include a pass through of the heart pendant and clusters.

STEP 6:

When done stringing and happy with fit and appearance, attach each crimp ends to magnetic closure pieces. Take care to ensure proper placement of magnetic closures so that it closes properly and does not twist necklace.

STEP 7:

To finish test crimps for security and then trim free wire ends with cutters.
