A Spotted Canary Project by Nicole

10 November 2009

Create one of a kind fall napkin rings for your dining room table by crafting beads out of patterned paper and adding in some beads and charms for a little sparkle

Instructions

STEP 1:

Create between 12 paper beads that are ½ inch wide. See techniques for instructions on how to create paper beads.

STEP 2:

Cut a piece of 24 gauge wire that is between 12 and 14 inches long. Create an eye at the end with your round nose pliers this will look the same as an eye on an eye pin.

STEP 3:

String beads onto wire. Start with 4MM beads and then add a larger 6MM bead. Then alternate a paper bead with a 6MM bead. Do this 12 times and then add a few more 4MM beads. Finish the wire with an eye at the end and cut off excess wire.

STEP 4:

4. Create a charm with a 2 inch eye pin. Do this by adding a 6MM bead to the eye pin, then a paper bead and then another 6MM bead. Wrap the end through one end of the string of beads created in step 3. Create another eye loop attach and finish the end of the charm. This could be done with your 24 gauge wire too, but your wire will be more flexible than the eye pin and the eye pin will hang more freely.

STEP 5:

Using a jump ring attach the owl charm to the end of your eye pin charm created in step.

STEP 6:

Wrap around your napkin and enjoy!
