A Spotted Canary Project by Toya

30 August 2010

The knotting technique uses silk cording, which creates a soft fluid jewelry piece.  The warm color crystal tones accented with a touch of light azure makes a Jewel of a bracelet.

Instructions

STEP 1:

Prepare the silk cord – pull the cord off the holder and stretch it thoroughly a section at a time until the cord is straightened out.

STEP 2:

Tie a double knot at the end of the cord (the end without the needle) and pull it through the side of the clam shell clasp away from the hook at the end of the clasp.

STEP 3:

Tie a single knot to secure the clasp on the opposite side of the clam shell clasp.

STEP 4:

On a cloth mat or a fabric napkin mark the size of regular intervals from one mark to the next as a place holder to gauge the size of the space you want to leave between the beads. This can be used as a standard should you desire even spacing between the beads. – This projects interval standard mark was 1/4 of in inch in width.
