A Spotted Canary Project by Nicole

31 March 2009

This adorable vertical hanging banner is the perfect decoration for a little boy’s room. Use it to decorate at a baby shower and then send it home with the mom-to-be!

Instructions

STEP 1:

Cut four stars out of patterned paper. Ink entire surface of stars with embossing ink and sprinkle with clear embossing powder. Use an embossing heat tool to set.

STEP 2:

Cut three rectangles of chipboard. The backs of legal pads are a great source of raw chipboard! Ink chipboard rectangles with indigo ink, coating in all four directions to make the chipboard look like denim.

STEP 3:

Hand cut letters out of cream cardstock and stamp a plaid pattern onto them. Ink entire surface of letters with embossing ink and sprinkle with clear embossing powder. Use an embossing heat tool to set.

STEP 4:

Stamp cars and airplanes onto cream cardstock with indigo ink and cut them out. Ink entire surface of letters with embossing ink and sprinkle with clear embossing powder. Use an embossing heat tool to set.

STEP 5:

Punch holes and set eyelets in the pieces and connect with office rings.

STEP 6:

Hot glue embossed pieces to the stars and chipboard. Hot Glue works well with embossed items since sometimes you have residual melted powder on the back side and that does not adhere easily.
