For this photo frame I used a pencil art kit, a purchased frome and added embellishments for a one of a kind personalized frame. Try items placed "outside the box", such as the seagull flying into the scene or the shells coming off the page
Instructions
STEP 1:
Color the chosen Beach scene Pencil Work.
STEP 2:
Paint the base coat of acrylic paint on the frame (cobalt blue). This will be the color that shows through the "cracks". When that is dry, paint the Crackle medium over the first coat. When that is dry, paint the topcoat (Satin cream) over the crackle medium. The direction of the brush strokes will determine the direction of the cracks. As the topcoat dries, it will form the cracks to give your frame a rustic look.
STEP 3:
Scan and print a copy of your Pencil works art to cut up for layering with the decoupage technique. Cut the Pencil works art into a size and shape that is appropriate for your frame. Cut the opening for your photo.
STEP 4:
Choose a solid color cardstock that will compliment your artwork. Cut it larger than your artwork and layer it behind your Pencil works artwork so that it frames the scene. Attach the artwork with eyelets. Using sharp scissors, cut out elements from the printed copy you made that you want to layer or from other scenes in the set. If you want the objects to pop from the page, use foam tape to apply them and then paint the surfaces with Mod Podge (or white glue).
STEP 5:
Add other embellishments or actual objects such as shells to your frame.
