Extend your glass art project with a watercolor washed frame - it will make your project appear to be floating in thin air.
Instructions
STEP 1:
Cut the frame to fit the size of the glass art project out of heavy (110lb weight or higher) watercolor paper. This helps the watercolor pigment you apply to stay within the boundary of your image.
STEP 2:
Apply a watercolor wash to the frame - set aside to dry. Before applying a wash to the watercolor paper, wet down the paper, close to saturation. This allows the water and pigment to flow across the paper, giving you a more even background.
STEP 3:
Emboss the flower stem and 2 dragonflies on watercolor paper with black embossing powder.
STEP 4:
Watercolor the flower and dragonflies - set aside to dry.
STEP 5:
Trim the flower and dragonflies close to the edge of the image.
STEP 6:
Assemble the frame, attaching the flower and flies to the washed frame with foam dots.
STEP 7:
Adhere the frame to the glass art project.
