A Spotted Canary Project by Spotted Canary Creations

13 April 2009

Dainty butterflies and vines surround a get well wish in this cheery card. It’s sure to bring a smile to someone who’s “under the weather.” Repurpose this unique gatefold design by swapping out the papers and stamps. If you select a different stamp, do a test stamping and reevaluate the measurements for the opening. Create a mockup out of scrap paper to ensure that you like the size of the opening.

Instructions

STEP 1:

Cut a 5 inch square from dark pink cardstock to use for the card base.

STEP 2:

Cut an 8.5 x 4 5/8 inch rectangle from the plaid paper. Locate the center of the strip by folding it in half, then unfold it. Fold in both ends so they meet at the center fold to form flaps.

STEP 3:

Randomly stamp the Butterfly Scroll image on the flaps with pink pizzazz ink.

Garden Get Well Card Step 4

STEP 4:

To create window, open flaps cut out a section in each one that is 1 1/8 inches wide and 2.25 inches tall. See template for details.

STEP 5:

Cut a 4 1/8 x 4 5/8 inch rectangle from white cardstock. Stamp the “Get Well” image in the center of it with primrose ink. Glue the rectangle to the inside of the plaid paper. Glue the plaid paper to the dark pink cardstock.
