A special hand stamped invitation is the perfect way to invite your wedding guests. Build the perfect invitation and save money doing it! When making a batch of formal wedding invitations, begin with a single sample. Work on your sample until you get it exactly the way you want it before launching into cutting all the paper and various parts. Make sure you can get enough of a given supply before you begin. Always consider the availability of suitable envelopes before you design the invitation.
Photos are another nice touch to add to a formal wedding invitation. Look for stamps designs that match the type of invitation you are creating. Here we used Martha Stewart Crafts stamps for our formal design.
Instructions
STEP 1:
Determine the size of your card (and envelopes). Design the inside wording on your computer and print onto cream cardstock. Stamp the decorative swag and small flower with embossing ink. Sprinkle on gold embossing powder and set with a heat tool. That addition of color and decoration adds a lot of richness with little cost or time involved. When heat embossing, keep a dry paintbrush close by to get rid of any stray particles. There are anti-static pads you can use to help cut down on the stray particles. Mount the wording onto gold cardstock and then adhere inside card.
STEP 2:
The front of the card features a monogram and introduces the colors of the wedding. Stamp the large laurel onto cream cardstock with embossing ink. Sprinkle with gold embossing powder and use heat tool to set. Stamp the monogram letter in the center of the laurel image with ruby pigment ink and emboss with clear powder. Cut out stamped image with circle cutter. Mat with circles of black and gold cardstock, adhering layers together with adhesive foam circles for added depth.
STEP 3:
Stamp background onto front of card with small flower stamp and ruby pigment ink. Emboss with clear embossing powder. Apply glittering glue and glitter to embossed flowers. Adhere matted monogram to card front.
STEP 4:
Embellish the opening edge of your card with a border punch. Open card and punch a hole along the fold, about an inch down from the top. Tie ribbon through this hole and knot loosely at the front.
