These beautiful floral napkin rings are personalized with chipboard letters – they can double as place cards for your guests! Never needle felted before? Check out our General Crafts section for more information, or replace the felted leaves with ones hand cut from cardstock.
Instructions
STEP 1:
Cut a strip of double sided paper for each napkin ring (these are 2.5 x 9 inches). Apply brown ink on all paper edges for an antique look.
STEP 2:
Fold over one inch from one of the short end to make a flap.
STEP 3:
Cut a strip of coordinating paper and apply to the ring; tuck under flap.
STEP 4:
Glue the ring together.
STEP 5:
Use a single adhesive dot inside the flap to secure it.
STEP 6:
Set ring aside.
STEP 7:
Trace felt leaf on scrap cardstock. Draw a vein on the leaf, and then cut it out to form a stencil of just the vein.
STEP 8:
Lay the stencil over the leaf and needle felt with nutmeg and ivory roving wool.
STEP 9:
Sew a button onto the leaf and hot glue the leaf to the flap on the napkin ring.
STEP 10:
Punch a hole in the chipboard letter, thread a few buttons on, then wind the ribbon around the button on the leaf to attach.
