A Spotted Canary Project by CMScanlon

21 April 2009

Create an embroidered bed pocket. I found this kit at Dimensions but instead of making a dresser scarf I turned it into a pocket! You can also create this using a Cloth 14" x 39" and your pattern of choice.

Instructions

STEP 1:

Cut embroidered scarf into three pieces, one 5 ½", one 9 ½" and one 17" or whatever is left of the scarf.

STEP 2:

Hem each piece, approximately ½".

STEP 3:

Using the sample as an example, create a stack of fabric. Place the longest piece on the bottom, with the hemmed edge at the bottom. Lay the 9 ½" piece on next, with the hemmed edge at the top, and with the wrong side facing down. Lay the 5 ½" piece down next following the same direction as the 9 ½" piece.

STEP 4:

Make sure the edges are straight and match, pin to secure while stitching.

STEP 5:

Use the sewing machine with white thread and stitch the edges together.

STEP 6:

Cut long threads and enjoy.
