A Spotted Canary Project by Spotted Canary

20 March 2009

Crystal flat backs are perfect to decorate and customize your personal items. With a simple tube of good glue you can add “bling” to most everything you desire. The hardest part will be waiting for the glue to dry.

Instructions

STEP 1:

Always work on a secure flat surface that is clean and free of clutter.

STEP 2:

Have all of your tools ready and accessible.

STEP 3:

Remove any pieces, backing, glass, etc that might be part of your surface prior to gluing.

STEP 4:

Use transfer paper to sketch out the letters or design as a guide for what you want to create with flat back crystals.

STEP 5:

Work one flat back crystal at a time, using tweezers to place crystal into place over a tiny drop of glue.

STEP 6:

Lay out your flat back crystals on the frame in a design of your liking.

STEP 7:

Working one flat back crystal at a time, pick it up with a tweezers and place a drop of glue where the crystal was. Place the flat back crystal on top of the glue.

STEP 8:

Repeat until you have finishing adhering all the flat back crystals to the frame.

STEP 9:

Allow the glue to dry completely before handling.

STEP 10:

When working with crystal flat backs, use a tweezers to place the crystal onto the glue. This will give you greater control when positioning. Avoid using too much glue, which can cover the crystal and make it cloudy.
