Ceramic Christmas Ornaments

My seven year old grandson and I took a trip to our local ceramic shop where I purchased some tree oranments for him and I to paint together. While painting his and trying hard to keep his different colored paints on the tiny details of the ornament, he got frustrated with getting the paints mixed in the other areas of the ornament. We decided to give the ornament a kind of antique look by painting it one solid color and then doing some dry brushing. We were both thrilled at the way they turned out and have decided to paint many to decorate my tree in this year. It was a fun and easy project for him doing them this way.

A fun project for kids that like to paint. The Folkart paints are an easy clean up with soap and water and mix well to create the colors you want. The dry brushing just seems to give the ornaments a kind of antique look. Have fun painting!
