This “sushi” is not actually real sushi but a sweet rice crispie treat. The “washabi” is actually vanilla frosting dyed with green food coloring.
Instructions
STEP 1:
-Slice candied fruit pieces into size that would mimic pieces of tuna or ingredients found in a tuna roll. Set aside.
-Melt Marshmellows in non stick pan over low heat. Remove fro heat. Mix in crisp rice cereal. (I used 6 large marshmellows and one cup of rice to make 8 little rolls). I didn’t use butter because I wanted less fat but this will make a harder roll than if you used butter too, but it’s up to you if you want to add a little butter.
-Working quickly get about a tablespoon worth of rice and lay at edge of fruit roll. Add different color candied fruit slices. Top with a little more rice and roll up.
-Cut both ends of roll to even out each side to about 1 1/4 ” thickness.
-Lay together on a plate with edges of fruit roll up seams touching because the roll up tends to open up easily.
-Dye some white frosting green to mimic washabi.
-If desired pour a little maple syrup in a small dish to mimic soy sauce.
-Dip rolls in condiments and enjoy a sweet (not fishy) treat.
