A Spotted Canary Project by Kabby

25 March 2009

Try this unique interactive card to invite special guests to your next birthday celebration!

Instructions

STEP 1:

To create card base, cut out templates A and B from chipboard, assemble and cover with pink cardstock. Fold where indicated, but do not adhere closed yet.

STEP 2:

Cut out template C from chipboard (2 pieces) and cover both sides with purple cardstock.

STEP 3:

Using a zip top bag, cut out a section of bag from center so that the top and bottom edges are open and sides are still sealed.

STEP 4:

Lay out the two purple C pieces so that curved edges are facing out. Adhere one edge of baggie to flat back edge of one template piece. Lay that template piece on top of second template piece so baggie is sandwiched between them. Carefully lift up top piece to apply adhesive to bottom piece along straight edge and attach other side of baggie to bottom piece.

STEP 5:

Fold template to create the box. It should be folded as if you were rolling it up. Unfold the box and on the furthest inside flap, slide baggie over flap. Fold box back up and pull ribbons to slide out. Make sure your “fronts” of sliders are showing when you have them extended out. If all is correct, adhere box together on the back only.

STEP 6:

Cut yellow cardstock to adhere to front, leaving 1/8 inch of pink cardstock showing around edges.

STEP 7:

Stamp “please come” and “party time” in corners using clear stamps. Apply square clear gems to corners and doodle around edge with black pen.

STEP 8:

Punch out eight party hats from purple cardstock and arrange them in a circular pattern to create a starburst look. Cut out a 2 1/2 inch circle from pink cardstock. Adhere to center of party hat starburst.

STEP 9:

Punch a 2 inch scallop circle from yellow cardstock and adhere to center of pink circle. Apply birthday cake sticker.

STEP 10:

Apply clear gems to tips of party hats and doodle around edges of center pieces as shown with a black pen.

STEP 11:

To decorate the left pull out side, cut white cardstock to adhere to purple slide leaving 1/8 inch of purple showing around edges.

STEP 12:

Punch out a party hat from yellow cardstock and apply to left top side. Apply “party” epoxy sticker and other miscellaneous stickers to center.

STEP 13:

Use black pen to doodle around edges as shown.

STEP 14:

Staple a ribbon pull to far left edge. To decorate the right pull out side, print out invite information on white cardstock. Trim to fit on purple slide leaving 1/8 inch showing around edges. Staple a ribbon pull to far right edge.
