Instructions
STEP 1:
Begin by painting the frame of the memo board with white, gloss paint.
STEP 2:
Once the paint is completely dry, cover the cork side of the memo board with pattern paper.
STEP 3:
Cover the seam of where the 2 pattern papers meet with a border sticker. Place coordinating pattern paper in the open ovals and trim to fit openings. Place a very small piece of pattern paper behind the flower shapes on the border sticker.
STEP 4:
Place the border onto the background paper. Add additional adhesive for extra sturdiness.
STEP 5:
Screw into the border and through the cork, 3 cup hooks for hanging your keys.
STEP 6:
Decorate the border strip with gems, die cut butterflies, and letter stickers for labeling your keys. I place my stickers onto the frame with foam tape.
STEP 7:
Create decorative pushpins by adding stitched floral accent stickers and gem flower stickers to the tops of the pushpins. You will need to use and extra strong adhesive to keep these beauties in place. On one of the pushpins, I folded a 1 inch by 12 inch piece of blue pattern paper to create a rosette. Then I added the stitched floral accent to its center.
STEP 8:
This is also where I put my grocery list or notes on the tag pad and I added my own photo strip by using some of my favorite photos of my daughter.
STEP 9:
For the dry erase/magnetic side of the board-cover 8 inches of board with pattern paper. I place mine at the bottom but you could place it at the top of the board.
STEP 10:
Create a divider between the pattern paper and dry erase section with a piece of trim.
STEP 11:
Make your own magnets using die-cut images and die-cut words. Simply place the die-cut onto a sticky magnet strip and trim it into the desired shape. This works well with photos too!
STEP 12:
To create the mail envelope. Cut a file folder to 6 x 9 and cover it with pattern paper. Add 4 large, circle magnets to the backside of the covered file folder.
STEP 13:
Decorate the envelope with die-cuts and stickers for labeling it. Place your mail in it and remove it off the board when you are ready to pay your bills.
STEP 14:
Tip for Success: Change your mail folder to fit the season. Simple cover another file folder with seasonal pattern paper and decorate it with seasonal embellishments. Christmas, Halloween, Easter mail never looked so festive.
